Philip Giordano

Founder and Chief Investment Officer

Philip Giordano is the Founder and Chief Investment Officer of Livello Capital Management. Mr. Giordano was previously with Goldman Sachs as the Head of Distressed Research (2015-2018), a proprietary risk-taking role within the firm. In this role, Mr. Giordano led the distressed investing effort and all workout processes within corporate credit, reporting into the Global Head of Credit. As the Head of Distressed Research, Mr. Giordano managed a team of five analysts. He was responsible for identifying key investable themes and opportunities for the team to explore, trade execution and portfolio and risk management.

Previously, Mr. Giordano spent 11 years with Deutsche Bank (2004-2015), most recently as senior analyst in the Distressed Products Group, covering autos, airlines, industrials and financials. At Deutsche Bank, he developed the skillset for investing across the capital structure, following a rigorous and disciplined investment process. He also led some of the most high-profile restructuring processes post-financial crisis. Mr. Giordano started his career as an analyst at Citigroup in the investment banking division.

Mr. Giordano graduated from New York University with a B.S. in Finance and Accounting in 2003. At New York University, he was captain of the golf team. 

Joseph Salegna

Chief Financial Officer

Joseph Salegna is the Chief Financial Officer of Livello Capital Management. Prior to Livello, Mr. Salegna was the Chief Financial Officer of Field Street Capital Management, a multi billion dollar fixed income and relative value hedge fund from 2016 through January 2018. From 2013 to 2016, he was the Chief Financial Officer of Vernier Capital Partners, LP, a fundamental based long / short equity hedge fund. Joseph has held the Chief Financial Officer title at various firms such as Kensai Asset Management (2012-2013), Serendiv Capital Management (2010 – 2012) and JANA Partners LLC (2005-2010).

Mr. Salegna graduated Magna Cum Laude from St. Francis College with a B.S in Accounting in 1994 and is a Certified Public Accountant. 

Tim McArdle

Managing Director, Senior Analyst

Tim McArdle is a Senior Analyst at Livello Capital Management. Mr. McArdle most recently worked as an independent consultant for the Situational Investing Group at Elliott Management Corporation (2016-2019). Reporting directly to the U.S. Head of Restructurings and Senior Portfolio Manager, Mr. McArdle’s role was to identify, research and present both public market and private investment opportunities focused on deep-value, idiosyncratic and special situations, with a particular emphasis on distressed debt and activist equity.

Mr. McArdle was previously the Head of the Distressed & Special Situations Group and a Portfolio Manager at CQS (2009-2015). In this role, Mr. McArdle led the distressed investing effort and all workout processes, reporting into the CIO. He was responsible for originating, evaluating, and managing investments globally, with a focus on stressed and distressed bonds, non-investment grade bank debt, CDS, and public and private equities.

Prior to CQS, Mr. McArdle worked in the Distressed Products Group at Credit Suisse in a proprietary risk-taking role. Mr. McArdle started his career as an analyst at Citigroup in the Leverage Finance division.

Mr. McArdle graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a B.S. in Business Administration (Kenan Flagler) and a minor in Chemistry in 2003. 

ALEX DEFELICE

MANAGING DIRECTOR, SENIOR ANALYST

Alex DeFelice is a Senior Analyst at Livello Capital Management.  Mr. DeFelice has over 15 years of experience on the buyside after beginning his career in 2001 in investment banking executing financial restructurings.  Mr. DeFelice most recently worked on a credit team at Paloma Partners (2020-2021) where he led distressed and special situations investments and worked on the development of a systematic credit strategy. 

Prior to Paloma Partners, Mr. DeFelice served as a Senior Analyst at Fir Tree Partners (2018-2019) where he focused on distressed and special situations investments as well short opportunities in both high yield and investment grade and he served as Head of Research at MatlinPatterson Global Advisers (2014-2017) where he had a similar product focus. 

Prior to joining MatlinPatterson Global Advisers, Mr. DeFelice was a Director at BlackRock (2009-2014) and served as a Portfolio Manager on the Special Situations Portfolio team within the Leveraged Finance Group and was responsible for managing both domestic and international distressed and special situation investments.   

Prior to joining BlackRock, Mr. DeFelice was Head of Distressed Research at R3 Capital Partners, a multi-strategy credit hedge fund that was spun out of Lehman Brothers in 2008 until the acquisition of the firm by BlackRock in 2009.  He served as an Analyst in the Global Principal Strategies team at Lehman Brothers (2006-2008). 

Prior to joining Lehman Brothers, Mr. DeFelice worked in investment banking as an Analyst in UBS Warburg’s Global Restructuring Group (2001-2002) where he advised companies through both in-court and out-of-court financial restructurings, and then as an Associate at Chanin Capital Partners (2003-2006) where he advised bondholders through similar restructuring situations.  Mr. DeFelice graduated from the Duke University with a B.S. in Economics in 2001.

Sourya Naraharisetti

Managing Director, Senior Analyst

Sourya Naraharisetti is a Senior Analyst at Livello Capital Management. Mr. Naraharisetti most recently worked on a credit team at Millennium focusing on identifying and analyzing high yield and distressed credit opportunities.

Prior to joining Millennium, Mr. Naraharisetti was with Goldman Sachs on the distressed credit team, with roles in both trading and research. While at Goldman Sachs, he traded and invested in full capital structures including revolving credit facilities, private and public loans, bonds, and credit derivatives across a variety of sectors.

Prior to Goldman Sachs. Mr. Naraharisetti worked at Deutsche Bank trading high yield and distressed energy credit. He started his career on the High Yield desk at Citigroup.

Mr. Naraharisetti graduated from Duke University with a dual major in Biomedical Engineering and Neuroscience in 2013. He co-authored New Financing Methods in the Biopharma Industry: A Case Study of Royalty Pharma; published in the Journal of Investment Management (First Quarter 2014 issue).

Eric Tucker

Director of Operations

Eric Tucker is the Director of Operations of Livello Capital Management.  Prior to Livello, from 2008-2020 Mr. Tucker was a Managing Director of Greylock Capital, an Investment Advisor with expertise in the global credit markets where he was responsible for building and executing it’s operational and financial capabilities.  Prior to Greylock Capital, from 2005-2008 he was the Director of Operations for Raven Asset Management, a fixed Income and credit manager where he was responsible for the company’s operations, administration, and information technology.

Prior to Raven Asset, from 2002 to 2005, he was Director of Wealth Planning for KB Financial, a Registered Investment Advisor and Insurance Agency.  Prior to that Mr. Tucker spent seven years as Director of Operations for European Investors Inc, an Institutional REIT manager, where he managed the trading and settlement operations, compliance, and fund accounting.

Mr. Tucker received an M.B.A. from the Gabelli School of Business at Fordham University in 1998, and a B.A. from Binghamton University in 1991.

Catherine Shallow

Head of Marketing & Investor Relations

Catherine Shallow leads Livello’s investor relations and business development efforts. Ms. Shallow brings over 12 years in the alternative investments space working with institutional investors and family offices in the US and internationally. Most recently, Ms. Shallow was Head of Capital Formation and Investor Relations for Beacon Ridge Capital Management. Prior to that, Ms. Shallow spent five years in business development and trading capacities at Deer Park Road, a $4 billion structured credit manager. At Deer Park Road, Ms. Shallow primarily focused on marketing and investor relations for the Firm’s multiple funds, including hedge fund and mutual fund portfolios. Previously, she spent five years as a Product Specialist within the Investor Relations group for a $2 billion mortgage credit hedge fund manager, Premium Point Investments.

Ms. Shallow received an MSc in Finance from Trinity College Dublin. She is an avid runner and regularly competes in ultra-marathon races.
